Landing plan: planning and rule application
The map shows one or two runways, aircraft and waypoints. You decide which aircraft lands first and the route it must take, applying priority rules, emergencies and messages. It measures planning and rule application together.
Why it matters for ATC selection
Planning tests built around simple air traffic scenarios are common in ATC selection, because they show whether a candidate can apply rules to a changing picture.
How the practice works
- The map shows one or two runways. The arrow marks the runway in use and the landing direction.
- Aircraft show their identifier above their speed. Triangles with letters are waypoints.
- For each picture, choose which aircraft lands first, then its route.
- You can open the rules at any time during the test.
The full-length test runs for 5 minutes. The full-length test is part of full access. Every practice item is original. Full access adds feedback on where you lost marks and how to improve.
Tips
- Scan for an emergency first. It always lands first.
- Read the message box before measuring anything. It can change the answer completely.
- Measure along valid routes, not straight lines, and never cross a runway.
